What gets read from the receipt

Five fields, suggested for you. Check before saving.

Every scan is read on-device, no key needed. Add your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google key in Settings and extraction gets noticeably better.

If the reading misses, tap Pick from receipt and choose the number straight off the image. Nothing is saved until you say so.

  1. 01VendorThe business name off the top of the receipt.
  2. 02DateThe date printed on it, so Tuesday's lunch lands on Tuesday.
  3. 03AmountThe total, cross-checked by a second reading when an AI key is set.
  4. 04CategorySuggested from what the receipt is; change it if it guessed wrong.
  5. 05AddressThe vendor's address. Tap I drove here and it becomes a suggested mileage stop.

Camera, photo or PDF

Straightened, cropped and read on the spot.

Take the photo at whatever angle the counter allows. The receipt is straightened and cropped, and if the crop is off you adjust it by hand. The same dialog takes a photo from your roll or a PDF from your files.

  • Read on-device by default. The AI reading only runs if you add your own key in Settings.
  • With a key, a second reading cross-checks the total before it is suggested.
  • Split cost to claim your share of a shared bill.

Lives on your phone

Install it to the home screen. Forward it from your inbox.

No app store: install Expense Horizon from the browser and it sits on the home screen like any other icon, opening straight to This Week with the camera one tap away. For the receipts that arrive by email, everyone gets a private inbox address of their own.

  • Installs on iPhone and Android from the browser, and the camera opens from inside it.
  • Forward an emailed receipt to your private address (turned on from Settings) and it waits on the week for review.
  • Nothing is filed until someone looks at it.

The other way in

Not everyone snaps as they go. Some bring the whole pile on Friday.

Drop a week of photos and PDFs at once, review the list, add them all. Same week, same report. Either way, the week is done.
